But, I have been thinking of maybe bending my own rules to also include "just in time" so I can enjoy the game without being pestered by vampires and cultists until I'm ready to trigger the associateed quests. I'm just getting into mods, but I thought it would be interesting to play through first with just the unified patch so I can really tell the difference.

It grabs, among other things, any ore in veins your Player happens to pass with out having to stop and equip your pickaxe. Player DOES need to actually be carrying a pickaxe.
